 When inspecting essential tubes, reliabillity is a valuable asset. Especially heat exchangers or underground tubes should function according your expectations.
Our solution
Applus RTD has the most extensive service-package for the inspection of tubes. Our services are suitable for, among others, heat exchangers, condensators, finned tubes, underground tubes and other hard-to-reach tubes. Using eddy current equipment allows us to find cracks in metal surfaces and next to, or in welds.
Degradation like erosion, corrosion, wall thickness reduction and cracking, are mapped with tube testing. Directly after the inspection you'll get the report with all essential information.
Different tube testing techniques:
Eddy Current (EC): EC detects and quantifies both local defects like pitting and cracking, as well as general wall thickness reduction. Internal and external defects can be detected and distinguished.
Partial Saturation Eddy Current (PSEC): PSEC is mainly suitable for the detection and quantification of local defects like pitting and cracking. Like with Eddy Current, both internal and external defects can be detected and distinguished.
Remote Field Technique (RFT):  RFT is mainly suitable for the detection and quatification of wall thickness reduction. Both internal and external defects can be detected but not distinguished. 
Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS):  IRIS makes it possible to accurately measure wall thickness. Both internal and external defects can be detected and distinguished. The test signal contains not only information about defect depth, but about geometry as well. 
Combination of techniques: By combining the specific benefits of the different techniques the optimum inspection result can be reached.
